Transplant Tales: to China and back

Feeling Normal
Hello everyone! I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday!!
I have taken a back seat for the last couple of months, forcing Eric to update the blog. Hehe, it worked. Eric is doing fine and beginning to feel his energetic, stubborn self!! It has been nice not seeing him do the Chemo and getting back to normal.
Eric hasn't had Chemo for almost a month now. We insisted on this, so he could shake the ill feeling he had not to mention the pneumonia he came down with in the beginning on November. He will be starting the Chemo back up this week, but at a lower dose. Here we go again...well no maybe not. I have my fingers crossed..shhh and my toes.
It's funny I talk to so many people about our quest to survive and change our current US transplant system. Hearing people say they admire Eric an I, for what we did. Well let me point something out. We did nothing different than any other person would do, to live. The only thing that makes us stand out, is that we are willing to talk about our experience. Speak out loud about the unjust process there is regarding the transplant lists. Wanting people to know that the way things are done here in the states, needs to change.
The real story is not us.
The real story is WHY!!

Eric, I saw your story on CNN and immediately Googled your name and stumbled onto this page. I HIGHLY recommend you go to this website: www.eastwestqi.com. A Qigong grandmaster name Dr. Effie Chow has had success with cancer using an ancient Chinese healing method called Qigong (chee-gung). Dr. Chow's uses a fusion of Eastern and Western medicine. Her motto: "providing hope when all else has failed."

I’ll start by stating I’m not crazy, just dissatisfied with my quality of life. I’m healthy and would like to help others by letting others have my organs i.e heart, lungs, liver and so on. I have a wife and young child so would want to provide for them but not sure where to look or do, anyone got any advice?

I have quitely following Eric's story since last June and Kevin's story recently.

My prayers are with Eric's and Kevin's families. Eric's situation is of particuliar interest to me because I am walking down his path myself.

What saddens me about some of the commets lately are those alternative approach so all "healing" "cleaning body and soul".....it is all crab. Please don't sell all these non scientific or proven medicine to any person. Time is of the essence here.

Someday when I am in Eric's situation, I would appreciate the real way of treating the condition not some underselling of alternative noise.

Tom

There is one thing I wish for you, Kevin. It is the same I wish fr all mankind, but of infinitely more value on a personal basis. This is to find the value in your gifts to all mankind.

There is a greatness you have to offer, and of this, you are aware. It is only that you seem to doubt it, based on how aware you are of your own humanity-AND all the deficiencies inherent in so being. believe first in the knowledge you have to share. The dark side seeks to diminish your sharing.

If you fade from this life, what will be your legacy? This is the ONLY question that matters in the end, as well you know.

Live up to your own secret desire. Share with us what gifts you have received. In that way, we will grow.
